Training Summary...
Douglas Blacklidge's
education and training have been uniquely extensive in the profession of podiatric
medicine and surgery. His premedical studies lead to a bachelor's degree in
biological sciences
from
Purdue University. This was followed by 4 years of Podiatric Medical School
in Chicago. He graduated as Salutatorian from Scholl College of Podiatric
Medicine and was awarded the outstanding graduating student of podiatric surgery.
He then spent 3 years in a podiatric surgical residency program at Hutzel
Hospital and the Detroit Medical Center Hospitals affiliated with Wayne State
University. This included participation in the Diabetic Foot Clinic with the
multispecialty Diabetes Center at Wayne State University's Health Center.
Additionally, Dr. Blacklidge completed a Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery
fellowship with an AO Research Hospital in Mainz, Germany.
